On Sunday 8th April Urban Knights held their seventh MMA show at Syn nightclub in Derby. The event held eight fights in which the main event was Gavin Dunnicliffe ( Tap or Snap ) vs Lee Johnson ( Hyde MMA ) and current British Middleweight champion.

The fight was full of action mainly in the clinch and on the floor in which Dunnicliffe was the aggresser. The fight went the distance and Gavin was crowned the new champion by unaminous decision.

Jamie Sheppard was dominant in his decision victory over
Harris Neofytou. A couple of times it looked like his superior striking might
see the judges relieved of a job but, to his credit, Neofytou was tough and
hung on in the clinch and with a tight guard. Tap or Snap’s Sheppard looked
comfortable in all ranges though and took the well deserved nod.

Another impressive Tap or Snap victory came for Josh Layton,
who saw out a gruesome looking kimura attempt in the first round to dominate in
the second and third. His grit earned him ‘one more round’, but his skills won
him the fight as he proceeded to beat Ben Ford with takedowns and ground and
pound.

Josh is now the 10th Legion’s Lightweight NASC Champion!
